In December 2014, Yangon Heritage Trust unveiled a captivating photo exhibition titled “Global City: Yangon’s Past, Present and Future.” This initiative aimed to raise awareness and deepen the understanding of both residents and international visitors about the unique urban heritage of Yangon and its pivotal role in Myanmar’s history. The exhibition quickly became a hit among history enthusiasts, featuring over 120 rare and unusual photographs, each accompanied by fascinating historical facts, anecdotes, and little-known stories. It earned the distinction of being the only exhibition in Yangon to delve into the city's rich history. The seldom-seen images highlighted Yangon as the epicentre of key historical events in Myanmar, perfectly reflecting YHT's mission to preserve the city’s cultural heritage and its vision for Yangon to become one of Asia’s most livable and vibrant cities. I am always proud of my contributions to curating the exhibit, leading the planning and organising of the opening events, and promoting it to the public over the long term.
